Identifying early 4000 Industrial

Greetings and thanks in advance for your knowledge on the subject. Reviewing an early 4000 (172D 4 cylinder) that was repainted and rebadged as an Industrial 4000. Looks to me like an 841 based on the 4-speed transmission, the round emblem and hood to match, and adjustable ag front end. As its a diesel, I imagine the serial number under the battery is gonezo, but Ill check. Any other ways to prove its a 4000?
Thank you for your time!

For trivia sake the early LCG 2000/4000, which are kind of in the industrial category, had adjustable front axles. Probably not applicable to the original question though.

This is interesting
Any idea how to measure the LCG? Identify by serial #? Is it just a tire difference?
You may have nailed it sir. Grille/hood/emblem correct

I sure do like these too. Found one but more expensive than this
supposed industrial version Ive come across.

I havent see her yet, but I know the older 8XX had issues with battery acid eating away at the serial there. Ill look for sure thank you

Difference is the actual height of the front spindles is shorter and they put smaller rear wheels and tires on them. The serial number won't tell you if it's an LCG, but the model number will. Model number for a 4 cylinder 4000 LCG will start with 4131, and the 4 cylinder 2000 will start with 2131. They may have made a few prior to the '63 model year, in which case they might be 4031 and 2031.

Not sure of all the differences, wheel/tire size, front axle, seat, and paint job for sure. They coproduced the early 4000 industrials on the XX1 line. They had a 4000-type model number but an XX1 serial number. The model number for a pre-63 4000 LCG would be something like 4031X where X indicates transmission type and PTO/lift designation. 4 is for 4000 with 172 engine, 0 for pre-63, and 31 for LCG.
XX1 serial numbers
