I just rebuilt a 134 engine and am trying to prime the oil pump with a drill before starting. I am getting about 10 lbs of pressure on the gauge but not getting any oil to the rocker arm through the supply tube. Should I not be getting more pressure on the gauge and oil to the rocker arm? I did not replace the oil pump but disassembled, cleaned and checked it according to manual. Thanks for and help.

I believe that the tube going up to the rocker only gets its oil flow at certain points in the rotation of the engine. If the engine doesn't happen to be at that point in the rotation then oil will not be able to get up there. Try rotating the engine slowly by hand while turning the pump with the drill.

Sean is correct. oil to the rocker arms has to go through a hole through the camshaft so it has to line up.

Thanks for the help. Oil path through the cam explains it. Hopefully tomorrow I can line it up and make it work. If not, I may Oil up the rocker arms good and go ahead and start it.
