Hello all ,
Having a no spark issue on a 3 cyl 3000 . Spring of 21 put a pertronix system and pertronix coil on to eliminate points. Tractor ran fine. Early this year started tractor to warm up ran about 5 min and died. Tried to start again would not fire. Replaced the pertronix kit and coil, new plugs, plug wires, new distributor cap still no fire. Only thing left is the solenoid but the starter turns motor over fine, so solenoid is is putting power to the starter. Can the coil wire post on the solenoid go bad.

Hope you saved your old Pertronix parts since they are probably still good. Look upstream at wiring up thru switch.

There should be 2 wires on + side of the coil. 1 with loom and 1 without. The 1 with is resistance wire from switch for running,1 on solenoid is starting.

With a Pertronix kit, the resistance wire and bypass circuit should have both been eliminated.

Hey Mike Not to make things tough, but can you review
for us what you have already done to be certain this is a
lack of spark issue? I think its important for everyone to
see what you have already done, before we think about
next steps.

Where and how are you checking for spark? Do you have voltage to the coil with the key on? Can't make high voltage without low voltage first.
