TW-10 oil pressure gauge not working

Hey guys,

The oil pressure gauge on our 1982 TW-10 is not working, the needle is maxed out all the way to the right and doesn't move, key on or off.
If I remove the 1 wire from the sensor it doesn't change anything to the gauge, any ideas ?

Thanks,
Roel from Belgium.

Now ground that wire momentarily while someone watches the gauge. If no action next step is to ascertain that you have ignition power at the gauge.

If I had to guess I'd say there's a broken wire somewhere in that circuit or bad bulkhead connector. As suggested, try grounding it near the sensor and see what happens. It should sweep to no pressure I think... If that doesn't work, find the sensor wire where it enters the cluster and snip it and ground the wire to the gauge and see if it sweeps... If it doesn't then Id say either a power supply issue to the gauge or a bad gauge.
This is all assuming that the other gauges are working and it's not just a blown fuse? Id be careful of that instrument cluster as well. I'm assuming that the printed circuit in there is completely made from unobtanium....

can be the bulkhead connector, or more likely the flexable circuit board on the back of the instrument panel is coming loose.

Thank you all for replying,

I grounded the sender wire and the needle didn't move, I will open the dashboard and check the bulkhead connector and gauge as suggested.

Thanks again and kind regards,
Roel.

(quoted from post at 08:41:29 11/22/22) I will definately not do that, imagine having the hose or pipe break and blow hot engine oil all over the cab

Roel, you are not the only one who is concerned with their and their employee's safety. There have been many electric gauges replaced with mechanical ones in a manner that doesn't compromise anyone's safety. It takes but very little thought.
