Help with rewiring a 3600

Hello all.
I am in the process of rebuilding a 3600. I have the engine rebuilt and now ready to start the wiring. This tractor's wires were rigged up, so replacing 1 to 1 won't work. The harness I purchased [from here] isn't color-coded as OEM. Could someone shoot me a pic of the rear wiring of a stock alternator? Any other help would be appreciated. I have a 3600 manual and a meter.

aybe someone will come along with more know than me on your 3600, but if you are lucky, maybe this will help, from 4610, & then maybe not.

I can't help much...just wanted to say that buying the harness
from New Holland wouldn't have helped as far as being color
coded correctly. I bought one a month or so ago for a 5000 that
did not match the original. For the price it sure should have!

Mark,
Was it an aftermarket part sold by the dealer?
I bought this rear half of a 2/3/4/5000 harness at an online auction in MI a couple of years ago and paired it with a good used front half on my 4400 this summer. It was exactly like the original - wire colors, plug, etc.
The CNH ones are about $150 per HALF.

Yup... "CNH Original Parts". Back half is a bit cheaper than the front half. Plugs matched, only some of the wire colors did. Not happy.

Between that and the funk this weather has me in, I haven't done a thing on the basket case in over a week.

After searching the web I now see that I should have bought the $160 BIG Ford service manual, instead of the $40 tiny manual.

I know this post is older, but did you ever find the manual and wiring harness? 1976 3600 rewiring here!!!

Mark, you would help yourself by starting your own post and describe your needs. This site uses two different views. People using Modern view will see your post and the original post you are tagged onto, so they see the "whole" story related to your post. People using the Classic view only see your post as "Re" to the original post, none of that original post since Classic does not bring old posts to the top like Modern does; they stay in the list where they were posted in time where you post shows as current. People can swap over to Modern to see the original post, but likely many will not bother to do that.

What tiny manual did you buy? eBay is one source for good "pre-owned" OEM manuals.
