640 Carb recommendation

Trying to resurrect a 640. The carb is a TSX 813 with the side bowl. I am reading all sorts of different model carbs are put on
these. This one looks like somebody did some brazing work on a crack in the top half. It looks like a big gold booger.
What is the recommended carb for a 640? I do not want a shiny aluminum one.

As per a catalog I have that carb you have is made for the 800/900 series. What you need it the TSX765 orTSX692 orTSX500 orTSX580 any one of those would be correct. This site may even sell rebuilt ones in those numbers

As Olde says and I would add that I bet the scrapyards have an assortment on the shelves. The Marvel-Schebler was very common.
MoTec Engineering does a great job on rebuilding these and probably has them on the shelf too. They are a Minnie Moline specialist but do good work on these.
