Will fit, won't fit, again

The saga continues. Replacement *will fit* radiator is over an inch off as you can see. The result was that the fan hit the radiator on this 7000 that I'm working on.

We were going to replace it because of a bad oil cooler - radiator shop told us a new one would be cheaper. Owner elected to return the defective radiator and install a remote oil cooler.

Seems like the new radiators are smaller. When I bought a new radiator for our 6610, the new one was a inch shorter

The replacement we got for my son's 4000 through and A&I dealer was made by one of Ford's OE suppliers. Made in Ireland, if I remember right. Fit perfectly.

The one I got was made in India, sold by a company called Northern Radiator, and it was way off as you can see.

Wasn't my idea to get it.

I never buy aftermarket radiators.

Rather, I bite the bullet and have non repairable OEM radiators re-cored.

Works every time.

Yes, I do have a trusted radiator repair man may within driving distance.

Bingo.

Clancy made radiators for Ford Ireland, etc.

Have not had problems with Clancy radiators (in the past) but doubt if they are still around.

I used to have a radiator guy that would repair coolers. However, he sold out and the new guy got lazy. Figures he can make more money selling junk.

I checked on Clancy's Radiators and yes they still exist . Called Clancy's radiator Exchange in Limerick Ireland. Not sure about who has those radiators in the states though.
