800 Ford hydraulic pump head gasket

I just sprung a leak at the gasket where the pump head bolts to the pump body. Can I just change that gasket and be good to go? Can I do it with the pump still bolted to the tractor?

Well I lost one of those tiny springs at the top. If I'd known they came off easy I would have pulled them before cleaning the gasket off the plate. Can I run it without one or replace it with a similar spring?

If I had seen your first post earlier, I would have recommended removing the pump from the tractor and working on it on the bench. There are too many small parts that can fly off to "who knows where". From your post, I assume that it is a piston pump. I don't think that the pump will operate correctly without that spring, The other 5 pistons will do their job, but that 6th one will be a source of either leak off or blockage of the pressure that is being created by the others.

You mean these springs?
