Shibaura Fords

It was such a glorious day that I moved tractors to clean out the sheds. These two lined up nicely for a photo. These are the two Shibaura siblings out of the herd. 1620 HST on the left and 1510 12 speed on the right.

Great little tractors. I have a New
Holland 1920 4 wheel drive 12 SPD
with a loader. It only has 720 hours
on it. Very handy tractor.

My uncle has an 80s 2310 diesel with less than 1000 hours on it and it's a great tractor. Looks very similar to your 1510, I assume it's a Shibaura as well? I've borrowed it to dig post holes, do a little grading, and bale some hay. It was a little small for the New Holland Hayliner 273 square baler I paired it with, but it still did it. Using his for a few years is what made me want to stick with a Ford.

Nice looking pair you have there, sir!

Thanks, I like them too. The 1620 has 685 hours and the 1510 has 713 hours. I like a tractor for every implement so I don't have to switch them around.

Hahaha! Man, a tractor for every implement, that sounds great! My uncle keeps his box blade on constantly so everytime I use it, I have to fight it off and then fight it back on when I'm done...I've actually gotten pretty good at it. Hopefully I'll be using my tractor now, just gotta reseal the cylinder and top cover and I'll be set.

Wow, those tractors are practically brand new at those hours! I'm sure it's nice to have the two tire options as well. I see you have a landscape rake on the back. What do you use it for? We have tons of leaves so I thought about getting one for that, but thought it might tear up the yard.

Shibaura was the best IMO. Had a 1210 and a 1220. Great little tractors. Both handled a 5' brillion well. I
got a 1530 Boomer bought new in 1998. Still have it with 2800 hrs. and has never been in the shop. Still has
the original water pump. When NH went to LS I went to Kubota. It's a good tractor. but it aint a Shibaura.
Parts are gettin scarce, so we'll have to see what's gonna happen.

Don't knock the LS. Well thought out in their design, attributes, and reliability. Will buy another if I need another tracgtor. On the Kubota, LS targets them for affordable machines.....I know I have one.

I went to a sale today and they sold a CaseIH 35 which is an LS. I looked at the ID tag.
