the power steering hose on my ford 4500 tractor failed it is leaking at the factory fitting between the tubing and rubber hose. anyone have an idea how to fix this, a new hose cost more than I am comfortable putting into it was thinking of just having a complete flex hose high pressure of course made up for it

A good hydraulic repair shop can put a new hose on that factory fitting. If you don't have anyone locally, you could send your remnants to this place, they do a good job. https://www.oylerrepairshop.com

I have no experience with the Ford 4500. I replaced the failed metal hose on my Deere 301A several years ago, and have
had no problems.

A post on another site suggested that the 4500 may have factory only fittings which might be difficult for a hydraulic shop
to procure. I would suspect that you would need to take the entire old hose to a good hydraulic shop along with a picture
or two of where the ends of the hose connect.

There is end that has ferules that will bite into steel tube and crimps on hose. The end that goes in cyl is VERY special. Dont forget -011 oring.

A hydraulic shop should be able to get hose ends that will accept the tubing in a compression fitting or a braze/solder socket. They may be able to get hose fittings with the right ends to match yours, less the tubing so a longer hose can be used. Only way to know what they can do for you is to take it in and ask them.

Looks like your pump suction hose needs some attention as well.

(quoted from post at 13:04:22 11/02/22) thanks for all the great ideas went looking for a hydrolic shop only one local is the napa auto shop

You are in PA, aren't you? I don't know just where you are but look up Airline Hydraulics. I dealt with them some a few years ago when I did a job in PA. They have several locations in PA. They bought out Weaver Hydraulics in Willow Street, one of the other places I dealt with, a short time before I left that area. If nothing else, they might be able to head you to a shop close to you that could help you.

I don't know what the dealer wants for a hose but by the time you chase around and find fittings you might not save a lot. If you have the resources to stub the tube to a Male NPT hose fitting and weld it that may be the least expensive way. You just need to be sure the machine to crimp the end on, can accept the fitting with the tube welded in, as you want to do that before assembling the hose.
