Ford Identification Help

Hi all,

I just recently purchased a Old Ford Tractor. I wqs told it was a 3400, but not sure of the year. It has a Ford 750 backhoe and also a Ford front end loader attached. It was orginally yellow, then blue then black. I was able to scrape away all of the 3 layers of paint, and found these nubers, it this order.
C or G4D11K
1E07B
C300802
If anyone can help me identifying this tractor, it would be of great help. and I thank you in advance.

Thinking its a c40 model or a 3400, , diesel, no pto, with a 6x4 manual transmission, or a c4011k model number. and made may 7th 1971.

G4D11K is most likely C4011K which, as sotxbill has said, would be a 3400, which is the Utility model in the 3000 series with a diesel engine, no PTO and a 6x4 manual reversing transmission.

1E07B is the Unit Number, which is a code for the production date, which was May 7, 1971 during the day shift.

C300802 is the Tractor Number, or Serial Number, which most sources on the internet would claim is a 1972 serial number but I would believe the Unit Number itself before I would believe the accuracy of the serial numbers posted on the internet.

Thank all of you for responding. However I am 99.9% sure that the third digit is a 0, and not a D. The only digit that is not very clear is the first one. G or C, and I think it is a G. The remaning digits are very clear. I removed all of the paint there so I could read the numbers.So if the first letter is a G and the third is a 0, what would it be?
Thanks again.

The third character of the model number cannot be a letter. It is ALWAYS a numeral. The first character being a G does not make any sense. The only models that used G as the first character are from years later and they always had a letter as the second character as well. So the G in the first spot and the D in the third spot do not make any sense at all in terms of it being a model number, not to mention that the models that started with a G were the larger 6 cylinder tractors, the 8600, 8700, TW5 & TW10. So unless it has a 6 cylinder engine the first character cannot be a G.

Since you were told that it is a 3400, and the C40 matches it being a 3400, the only other possibility is that it was mis-stamped and it should have been C40.

Ford has pretty specific model codes
Your model C or G 1D or 011K breaks down as follows
C = 3000 series, 3400 is a model of the 3000 series
G = 8000, this would be a large 100 hp row crop tractor and not what you have
40 = utility
4D = Ford never used a letter in that position, the only two numbers that followed a 4 was 0 for utility and 1 for woods model
1 = diesel engine
1 = no pto
K = 6x4 manual reversing transmission

Therefore your tractors model code would be C4011K
