I have a question on the 1966 Ford 5000 diesel 233 with the hex block core plugs. Has anyone drilled/tapped a block plug for a 3/4 inch pipe thread block
heater? It LOOKS like they may be in between the cylinders, but I'm not sure. Next choice would be drilled/tapped for a 5/8 inch fitting for a tank type
heater. Thanks in advance.

I know the 3 cyl engines but not the 4.
On the 3 bangers there is a pipe plug in the intake manifold between #2 and #3 cylinders.
I suspect the 4 cyl engines are the same.
You could tap into that.
Otherwise, my early block 4000 has a tank heater in the lower radiator hose which requires no other taps into the block/cooling system. It works quite well.

Never seen one of those plugs taken out
I use the inline bottom radiator hose heater like UD has
4cylinders have a plug at the back of the intake manifold a tank heater can be plumbed into but also needs the tapped water neck the water pump mounts to
One can cut and add a tee into the lower radiator hose as a alternative

I have removed the screw in plugs before. I would suggest removing the plug and use a pipe bushing to bush it to the heater unit. The screw in plug is pipe thread.
