Holley carb in 3000 questions

Carb got stopped up with cork from a bowl gasket going
bad. Got a kit and decided to replace aged parts. The
metering valve body is part of the carb body. I was
wondering how to remove metering assembly? It seems
to be stuck pretty good and I dont have any specialty
tools. My IT shop manual only has a diagram of the carb
and only describes the function and not disassembly of
metering system.

HiYa Dave-
I have a scanned copy of the OEM HOLLEY 847 CARBURETOR MANUAL I can send you if that might help. It was used on 6-CYL engines but design and functions should be the same. Email is open...

You might also try the HOLLEY TECH SUPPORT site for a pdf downlaod of your carb model - see LINK below. I do not know which Model the 3000 uses- perhaps you or one of the Thousand Series gyros will chime in. I haven't worked on a HOLLEY CARB since my 1979 CHEVY VAN with a 4-BBL and 350 CID V8 --- the old days...the last of the Mohicans.

My guess you ate asking about the accelerator pump.

Boil it in water for a bit that usual does it for me. Just yesterday a guy told me he drills, taps puts a bolt in them to pull on. A kit comes with a new brass pump piston.

Got the first piston out how does the second one come
out? It appears to have a keeper that keeps it from sliding
out.
