Hi everyone can anyone give me an idea of why my tractor drives but not that fast. In 4th gear wide open it only moves about 5 mph can hardly pull a hill. All other hydrologics work. Much appreciated

I assume that it has the 4x4 torque converter auto reversing transmission, correct? It is not a hydrologic (or even hydraulic) transmission., It is a geared transmission with a torque converter and a pair of hydraulically controlled clutches that do the switching between forward and reverse. It has its own hydraulic pump at the input shaft of the transmission that provides the power to control the clutch packs, so it is completely independent from any other hydraulic (or hydrologic) systems om the tractor. Slow speed may be due to a worn torque converter, or slipping clutch packs.

Its not 4x4 but yes on the rest. is it possible that the filter could be clogged I just acquired the tractor from my wife's uncle and he was old school rancher with little money the filter looks old and I don't think it has been changed in a while.

Sorry, by "4x4" I meant 4 forward and 4 reverse gears, not 4 wheel drive.

It definitely wouldn't hurt to change the fluid and the filter, but I wouldn't put my hopes into it fixing anything. It has a bybass in it so that if the filter gets too clogged, the flow simply bypasses the filter and continues to flow anyway. If it has been run without a fluid and filter change for too long, and not worked very hard, the chances are that the fluid is probably contaminated with water from condensation over the years and things inside could be rusty. Get yourself a Service Manual and a pressure gauge and follow the procedures for testing the pressure as a start.

Thanks Sounds like good advice.

You didn't tell us how well it works in 1, 2 or 3, in both F and R. Does it only do 5mph in 4, R. If you are doing 5mph @ 2000 engine rpm in 4th, then you know it's not your fuel filter. Did you check the level of your transmission fluid. If your engine makes power and your transmission has fluid, then as Sean said, your converter is damaged or your clutch pack is slipping. Buy a factory manual and check your transmission pressure. It's also possible your dump valve is open, your front pump is shot, or your pickup screen is plugged.

Same in all gears sounds like I need to get a service manual and go from there. Thanks for the information.
