Was asked if I could look at and maybe fix a fuel leak on a Ford 4000. I'm kinda Ford ignorant but a fuel leak is a fuel leak SO I agreed to take a look at it. Turned out the fuel line in the lever operated valve assembly was only in finger tight. I had never encountered that lever operated valve assembly before and found myself wondering.... is that just a valve that switches from main to reserve or does it actually have an off position? I could not tell because it was almost fully empty having maybe a quarter inch of fuel left in it. Owner didn't have anything to put in it but diesel fuel. I'm fairly sure I found the cause of the leak and the line tightened up nicely. I thought asking what all that assembly does here on YT would set me straight! They didn't know the model year & I didn't look for it either. This guy is 4 cylinder with a blue & gray paint job.
