Greetings - I secured the box style air cleaner that fits underneath the intake manifold. It is empty, without any screens. What should I use
for filter material? Do I fill the center of the tray with engine oil? In other pictures I have seen chicken wire at the entrances to each neck,
though there is none present in my box.

Any pros/cons to using this box vs. an oil bath air cleaner?

Thank you for your help!

You can find oil bath filter material all over the net. You need the heavy type wire on both sides. At the top to keep from sucking the filler into the engine. At the bottom to keep it from falling out. I used half a dozen steel scrubbing pads from RK in the center tray. Originally it was one big pad. Fill the entire bottom to the level mark. The holes inside the tray will let the oil migrate.

It is an oil bath cleaner.
