I have a Ford 5030 with unknown hours on it, built in the UK in 1998. I had the shuttle repaired two years ago. It seems to be working fine right now.
I read 'Destroked 450' posts about the oil pump pick-up screen and decided to take a look at it.
Oil seems to be a little thicker than typical UDT, and opaque brown-ish.
Pick-up screen has a few little metal pieces in it at the 'frown' inlet, and also a small spring! Spring is about 0.5" long by about 0.25" OD or smaller. Found two more identical springs in drain bucket, but they looked like they had been pulled at one end and straightened.
NH dealer quoted $350 for a new screen assembly! I'm guessing that this screen can be back-flushed and reinstalled.
I purchased 10 gal of Kubota Super UDT 2. Will this be ok for the tranny and the hydraulics?
Thanks!
