No kidding. 63 4000 Diesel. Looks like a new replacement, but has witness marks on one side. When trying to reinsert while tractor was idling I could feel the crank bumping into it. I had to keep stopping and pushing it back down as it would climb up and out the tube. I figure it's the tube is at an incorrect angle, or the stick is too wide or both. It is as wide as the tube. Just bought the tractor last summer and finally got to bushhog the back 40 Saturday. If I insert it with the loop towards the front and the block, it stays in for longer, but eventually rotates and starts climbing out again. Any pics of an original setup?
Just found a pic on Chicken House Mechanic on YT. Yup, my setup is not original. The dipstick has no 'tube' coming out of the block. Still would appreciate some pics of the right setup.
