How do you set the valve for single acting cylinder float?

Single acting is power up and gravity down, so to set it to float would be to just bungee the handle into the lowering position.

The 4200/5200/7200 row crop valves are a bit different so Im not sure if or how they can be set for single action
If the valve is detented it will float in single action down but not all of these valves have the detent feature

Your valve is set for double acting. On the front, in your picture is a hexagon headed stud with a screwdriver slot. Screw that out as far as it will go, this sets the valve into single acting mode.

(quoted from post at 12:02:32 05/01/22) Not a good idea to tie or bungee the lever. I've seen that result in a cracked hydraulic pump

I don't see how that's possible on a single acting control valve bungeed to the lowering position. If it is a dual acting valve bungeed in either position, or if it's a single acting valve bungeed in the raising position, then yes, depending on what's down stream from the powered port and what state it's in, then it could damage the pump.
