The hydraulic return-to-sump steel tube inside under lift cover from the external spin on hyd filter is giving me issues. This tube appears to be mild steel, 5/8 dia. and double flared with nut at one end to
attached to manifold where filter attaches and hangs vertically. The other end just outlets the hyd oil back into the sump. Well a portion of the double flare lip was broken and I cut the rest off and tried
flaring again but after many attempts the tube continues to slip in the flaring tool jaws and I cant get to flare. CNH does not make this tube anymore. I called around to some salvage yards and no one seems
to have any. Anyone have any suggestions to either stop the tube from slipping or where to find a used one? Would a 5/8 copper tube work or is it too soft? The CNH part number is D0NNN844B. This Ford 5000
has dual power.
