Well got the new pump in. Ford dealer said
to check pressure by pulling off 4wd line
. Another mechanic was here and said this
is where I need to put a gauge.just below
the pump at one of the 2 small lines
there. No pressure with a new pump.
Pressure at scv has not changed .... I'm
stumped or there's not supposed to be
pressure below the pump....

Well I'm stumped too because your last post was with regards to an oil leak, not loss of pressure. Care to clarify us on some more details?

oil leak is cured with some loctite 515. oil pressure thread was actualy posted before the oil leak one.... pump ate a bearing/bushing and was badly scored. new pump in now, cured the oil leak. but pressures at scv still the same.

If you have low pressure at the SCV (which is JD lingo by the way - Ford is remote valve), then testing the 4WD line is a completely different circuit, and I don't know why someone would advise you to test there. Which was why I was confused.

If your main hydraulics are weak, and you just replaced a trashed pump with a new one, I would suspect that contamination got into your combining valve inside the priority pack and either stuck the spool and/or lodged open the internal relief valve. This would cause weak hydraulics at the remotes.

Double what Bern said. My TW5 II ate a pump and sent trash everywhere. I had to clean out the relief valve, combining valves, remote spools, loaders valve, hoses, pipes, etc. Had to remove and thoroughly clean just about every part of the hydraulic system.

So that's the valve on top of tranny and below cover in front of the seat. I had that off earlier in the project and cleaned it out but I'll check it again. There was not much metal in the oil when I drained and changed it. But no telling where it has collected...

Check to make sure valve #20 slides freely, and that the relief ball inside of it is not lodged open with contamination. Make sure you carefully measure the depth of the retaining plug #23 before you remove it, and reinstall it back to the same depth. Clean screen #25 also.

Well we have pressure now. Owner drove it home and that banjo fitting started leaking again. I ordered a new fitting, put it on and it still leaks at the transmission. What's the secret ???

There is a spacer between the housing and the banjo fitting.... That isn't shown in the parts book. No idea if it's even available anymore. Perhaps take it to a machine shop a d have them make one. It's probably 3/16 in width and probably the same wall thickness over the actual port size. It no doubt landed on the ground or in a drain pan when whomever first removed the pump tube ...
