861 Red Paint

I'm curious if anyone knows what the difference is between the TP310 and the TP115 - They interchange to the same Item number on here, one is a Dearborn red and the other is Vermillion. Other than the obvious of one being brighter than the other, I'm curious if anyone who's done a resto project on these might know the application differences for say a Ford 861. Year ranges? Serial number splits? Production date splits? Any information available would be appreciated. Thanks!

The red bellies were vermilion up until production of the XX1s started Sept. of 1957. For 1958 the shade of red changed to "orange red" when you put them side by side the difference is obvious. The gray is a lot tougher. Fiat lumps almost all of the grays together, I think 1939 through 1963. There was dark gray on the 9Ns and 2Ns, light gray for the 8Ns and hundreds, then medium gray for the XX1s and early X000s.

Please paint your starter and generator red.

This is helpful, thank you for your response. A gentleman that was questioning this had ordered the Dearborn Red (orange/red) and wasn't sure it was accurate for his application. His was a 1958 but produced in late 1957 so this was about spot on. Thanks again!
