1963 Ford 2000

Can anyone tell me IF a 63 Ford 2000 is SUPPOSED to have a pressure relief valve for the 3 pt lift? And if so, WHERE it is supposed to be? It was my understanding that they screw into the bottom of the tractor. But I don't see one under there?
Thanks!

There is one in bottom of R/A center hsg above the plate with 5 bolts. I have seen Very few bad over 50 years. The lift cyl has one under rectangular plate.

So I dug into it a little bit and discovered the silver circular piece in the picture. I assume this is the valve? How do I pull it out?

And MORE importantly, there is a hole through the housing, directly under the hydraulic tubes. The edges are rough, so am I correct in assuming that someone broke this somehow? And if so, how in the world could that happen and/or why??? You can see my paper towel in the picture from below.[/img:c52803a54e]

Will this hole affect my tractor? When I first purchased it a few years ago, the lift seemed to work just fine.

Yes. Thread a 1/4-20 bolt into the threaded hole and pull it out.

Be advised that the aftermarket relief valves are of very poor quality. Some (many? most? all?) do not relieve at (any?) pressure.

Do yourself a VERY big favor and order the correct replacement gasket for the relief valve cover plate. DO NOT use silicon.

So until I go through all other diagnosis options, I should probably leave that there?

Any advice on the hole in the housing? That has me very concerned. :(
