Lift Arm Troubleshooting

Looking for info on troubleshooting 3pt arms on 1801. Lift arms had been intermittent and stopped completely at the end of last summer.
Today I pulled the plug on the hydraulic pump and the lift started working. In position control the arms raise about 20 inches; 32 in draft
control. What are my next steps in troubleshooting to ID what is causing the intermittent issue/loss of pressure?

Just started the tractor up after sitting about 2 hours. The arms won't raise unless I remove the plug on the pump.

Sounds like you're losing prime on your pump. Causes can be wear in pump including shaft seals or a leaky or non-sealed suction tube.

I'm 95% sure it isn't the pump. I swapped pumps last year between tractors and there were no changes on either tractor.

How to I go about troubleshooting the suction line leak?

First check that the manifold is snugged down properly. If O.K. remove manifold and check if sealing O-rings seem O.K., probably best to replace them regardless. Inspect manifold for cracks/defects. If everything seems to be in good order and you still lose prime overnight the suction tube that goes through the transmission may be rusted through or otherwise have a defect or improper seal.

ok thanks. Who sells the suction tubes, or are they a local source item? If they're local source what do people use?
