Help with distributor shaft seal.

I am working on a 1964 ford 2000 4 cylinder tractor (model 2120). I ordered a distributor bushing kit from Steiner which includes the shaft seal and is supposed to fit my tractor. It appears to be the same kit sold here with the red oil shaft seal. Im finding the outer diameter of the shaft seal to be about .010 inch too small and isnt going to stay in the distributor unless I epoxy it or something. Has anybody else ran into this issue?

For reference, the old seal part number is 4628 which is an SKF part number with 0.875 inch OD. The new seal number is 108748 which when I look up has a 22mm OD(0.866inch). My distributor has a ford logo on it so I assume it is factory. Thanks In advance.

An SKF 4628 seal is about $5. Go buy one. There was probably a change in seals at some point that was only mentioned in one part book that you don't have.

I found a dealer a couple hours away that has the factory seal. He measured the OD at 0.886 inches. So it seems like these universal kits are not compatible with a 1964 ford 2000 like they say. Hope that helps someone in the future.

I would buy the SKF seal if they were readily available. It seems to be an odd seal size and nobody around me stocks them.
