Dual fuel filter 3cyl diesel

I am installing the dual filter setup this site sells and I am unsure if they use the same tube ferrule setup as the single filter housing or a line flare. Can anyone who has done this confirm?

I have the '65 with the CAV pump requiring 2 filters. I think it uses the ball type compression fitting....I just put new filters (the
whole assembly bracket and all in about 6 months ago and I recall having to get the nut on the line from the fuel tank really tight to
stop any leaking and I would have remembered if it were flared.

While you are doing that remove your drain plug and clean out the mesh screen on it. May save you a shutdown in the middle of a
field one day....like happened to me....embarrassing besides a PIA......mesh was half way clogged with rust and although my fuel
gauge said I had enough fuel to finish the job, it couldn't get out of the tank fast enough to keep the engine running.

I can't get the kit I ordered from here to fit at all. the output line runs straight into the battery try hinge. Had to resort back to the single filter setup. I am going to try to find one from a factory setup the has both outputs on the same side.

I don't have mine in front of me but the output of the secondary filter is connected to steel piping via rubber hoses and they are
parallel, horizontal, about 3-4 long and within an inch or two of each other. If it matters I can go out and check where they are
connected on the receiving end....basically one goes to the side of the CAV pump to supply fuel and the other probably accepts
suplus fuel when running at light loads for a given RPM.

Rubber hose and a couple of hose clamps solves loads of problems. There is maybe inches of water column pressure on that
line, like 1/2 PSI max. Besides being diesel, if something starts leaking not that big of a deal.

The main fuel inlet on a CAV is at the back of the pump, inside the rear fitting is a screen and check valve before fuel gets to a small vane style transfer pump the pumps fuel into the injection pump

Even a hose barb in that port will hit the hinge. There is no way its going to fit wit the input output configuration it has.

I suppose the filter head in question is this?:
https://www.yesterdaystractors.com/Ford-3000_Fuel-Filter-Assembly-Double_S60426.html

If so, the description contains:
"... Outer ports in, inner ports out. ..."
If "inner" is the same as closest to engine, this filter head can not be used on a 3-cyl 4000, for instance. The inlet connection has to be positioned inside of the battery tray support (which you already have discovered).

Normally, these filter heads have their ports the other way around; outer ports out, inner ports in (see image). One like that will work for you.

Reference ID: S.60426 and S.296 on the filters indicates that this is a Sparex part. S.60426 gives no result at Sparex (S.296 is S.1296 today), but some vendors refer to S.60426 as a dual filter head with M14 threads.
