Headlight Bulb Stuck in Housing?

Replacing the bulbs on a Ford 860 with Tract-O-Lite headlights and worklight.
One of the old sealed-beam bulbs (lamps) is stuck in the headlight housing. (The other headlight bulb and the worklight bulb came out easily.)
Tried gently tapping on the back of the housing, and even carefully prying on the back of the bulb with a thin screwdriver, through one of the slots along the rim of the housing. (Yes, the retaining ring is removed.)
Has anyone else run into this?

Better to break the glass than to have it break in your fingers trying to get the bulb out. I've learned that one the hard way. If it comes out clean the socket and put a little white grease or dielectric grease on the bulb base before installing.
