Found a 6600 row crop with a loader for sale on Facebook near me, never even knew they made a row crop version of the 6600. Is a 6600 row crop a rare tractor? They are asking 20k for it so Ill never own it but I still thought it was pretty cool.

They called both the ag and row crop chassis by the 6600 model name for a short while at the beginning of the production run, and then they changed the model name for the row crop version to the 6700. I don't know how rare they are. My references don't say exactly when they changed, but the New Holland parts site claims the 6700 was made from Jan 1976 through 1980, so I guess it was for the first year of production where they called both the 6600. But the parts site also calls the row crop version of the 6600 the "6600C" and claims it was made from Jan 75 though Sep 76, so I guess they made some that were called the 6600C at the same time that they wee making the 6700?

The 6600/7600 rowcrops were a 1 year model. They bridged the gap from the end of 5200/7200 production to the introduction of the 6700/7700, and were essentially the 5200 and 7200 with different grills and decals. The 67/7700 had all new sheet metal and improved hydrostatic steering.
I've never seen any evidence that 6600 rowcrop production overlapped with 6700 production. Anyone have model and unit numbers to show?
I had a 6600 rowcrop a number of years ago, but neglected to record the model/serial/unit numbers. There is also one sitting about 15 miles from me.

I have no evidence of an overlap either, except for the part site anomaly. But the New Holland parts site is getting almost as inaccurate about old Ford tractors as tractordata.com.

I had always thought that they stopped making the 6600 row crop when the 6700 came out.

I don't know when the actual release date of the -600 series was in 75 but I have not seen one with a production date older than 9/75 which matches the release date of Fords new cars back at that time
Production of the 6600/7600C row crop model ended 9/75 with a one month over lap of the 6700/7700 production that began 8/76
The 6600/7600C were basically 5200/7200 models with a couple of changed features being the grill, forward mounted exhaust and reverse rotation tach
Early production 75/5-76 6600C called the 7a1 series shared the same oil bath grill shell as the early 4600/5600/6600 models.
Later models 6-76/9-76 being part of the later 7a2 production shared the same grill shell as the 7600 model with paper air filter
The left side hood panel was only used on the 6600/7600C models 75/9-76, and is near impossible to find a replacement for

I have a 6600C row crop built Dec 75 we are in the process of rebuilding after a electrical fire, although considered a 1 year model there doesn't appear to be any additional collector value to them.
When completed mine with be modified having a 7610 model 268 turbo engine for a little addition pto power and 7600 grill shell with paper air filter.
