Ford 5000 Lift Shaft Bushings

Need to replace the 3pt lift shaft bushings/seals on a '74 Ford 5000. I've read the repair manual for lift assembly overhaul it goes through a process to disassemble entirely. Can the lift shaft bushings be replaced by simply removing the lift arms and pressing the bushings out once the lift assembly is removed from tractor?

I have not had a 5000 apart but the two that I have had apart, the "arm" that the shaft goes through inside, even if it does slide off, is most likely going to drop when the shaft is pulled out. Theoretically you can get the shaft out but you wouldn't get it back into the arm. There is not likely to be any advantage to taking this short cut because two weeks after you got it done one of the other wear parts inside would need replacing.

The bushings should float in housing, so removing arms and pushing shaft to get ahold of bushing to pull out. I have seen the shaft worn more than the bushings are. On hundred series the shaft can be swapped end for end, that puts worn portion on top.
