Looking for an idea for price on a 4000 gas early model, no live power, will get some pics when I can. Unattached Ford loader goes with it. And a3pt, 7' frontier yard mower 3pt, has gearbox issues.
Thanks for the help, GG, Wes

The pictures look good, especially those nice new tires, which should add at least $1000.00 to the value vs. old worn tires. You say "has gearbox issues". What exactly does that mean? If it was all working properly, with the loader and the mower I would say that it was worth between $4000 and $5000 around here in southeast PA. Depending on what's wrong with the transmission, it may be worth slightly, or possibly a lot, less.

sorry, meant to type Gearbox on the mower, we think the lower bearing seized, as we have not turned it
over to determine, our facility owner didn't want to sink any more money in the unit, so he
bought us a JD zero turn job.
left tire has a tube air leak, needs attention. tried finding a good serial number to find out what year,
but no numbers really make out on the left side there by the block? any leads on that.
previous to 1970? yes? GG

The 4 cylinder 4000 ag chassis tractors were only made from late 1962 through 1964. So it is a pre-1965 tractor (they did make some 4 cylinder 4000's after 1/1/65, but they are still considered 1964 tractors). They made a new 4000 series starting in 1965 that had a 3 cylinder engine.

Running with a working loader, I'd offer 3K, at least. Tires look good. The mower is worth something as scrap metal, even if you can't get parts to fix it.
