How to remove Ford 1910 flywheel?

I need to remove the flywheel from a Ford 1910 with a dual stage clutch to have it resurfaced. I have removed the large center nut but the flywheel is very tight on the crankshaft. Any tips on how to remove it?

From the 1710 Ford Factory Service Manual:

The flywheel sits on a tapered joint. The unique thing about a tapered joint is that it's either tight, or it's loose. There's no in between. When it pops loose, it will fly off unexpectedly and crush your toes in a worst-case scenario. So be safe with this.

Thread the nut back on until it's flush with the end of the threads. Smack the end of the crank with a good sized hammer, preferably a brass version if you have one. Don't get too crazy with a steel hammer or you'll deform the threads. If it doesn't break free, wedge a couple of prybars between the back of the flywheel and the block and start the smacking process again. If it still won't pop loose, you'll need to get a good sized puller on it along with the above mentioned steps.

Happy to help. There are alot of good people here that can collectively fix pertnear anything.
Note that if you are also servicing the dual stage clutch, a service manual is a must have. Minimum the I and T book and better the factory service manual.

I downloaded the service manual. I let out a big groan when I saw that the final adjustment of the fingers need done thought the hole in the bell housing. It's completely covered with the loader bracket. One more thing to remove.
