Ford 3400 parking brake

Does anyone know if the parking brake by the pto lever just pulls out like a brakes on a John Deere A? That might be locked up and I was wonder if I could disable it.

Are you talking about the hand lever transmission brake that was optional in the US and was standard in some European countries?

I've never used one myself, but from the parts drawing, it looks similar to a hand parking brake on a car. I think that you push the button on the end of the handle in to be able to move the handle, and pull up on it to engage the brake and then release the button to lock it in the up position, and to release the brake you push in the button on the end of the handle and hold the button in while you lower the handle.

I had one of those on a Brit 4000.
It looked like it had been left on and run
too many times and had eaten itself up
inside. I thought about fixing it but parts
for it were Very high.
Was a major source for water entry into
the rear end. I removed it from the tractor
and replaced it with a round cover from
another tractor.
Nice, well made feature tho. It works off a
right angle gear on the pinion shaft
inside. It had to come apart to get it off
but did not require going inside the rear
end to remove it.
