What's this?

Couple days ago I bought a wood box of 'farm items' for $25. I could see there was a corn sheller in the box which I was very interested in plus a couple of ice tongs. Could not see that there were two apple corers, misc. scrapers and the pliers in the attached pix (I hope they are attached). The pliers are slip jointed and have a kind of 'birds beak' at the front of the jaws. I've not seen any pliers like this and wondered if anyone knows what they were specifically made for? Thanks.

Pix didn't load so will try again

It looks like a pipe wrench.

This isn't really an appropriate post for a Ford tractor forum.

But I hope the spring warmth has begun down in Georgia!

Looks like some kind of early slip joint
pliers - ala Channel locks. Maybe for a
special purpose.
The guys on tool talk like questions like
this and they know everything there.

I meant for this post to go to Tool Talk but wasn't paying enough attention and posted it here.

The pliers look like they have some special function, particularly with that kind of birds beak at the front. Curious, yet odd.
