NAA Gas tank support spring ?

I wanted to dry fit my new gas tank, but am a little confused as to front bracket fitment. MPC shows front spring between tank and bracket. My picture before I took it apart is this.

I also can't find any close up pictures of a NAA without the hood for comparison.

Spring up or spring down ??

The spring, small washer and nut, all three go under the bracket.

Thank you showcrop. It thought so but wasn't sure from the parts book picture.

Watch a Dennis C. video of changing a Jube gas tank. They didn't even have a rubber washer between the tank and bracket not did they use a spring. It was solid mounted. I'll be using my spring. Wonder why they isolate the tank from all metal unless to prevent some sort of galvanic reaction. The engine mount brackets sure aren't going to move.
