All Ford 3910s I've seen used the CAV DPA rotary injection pump that have three bolts through the drive gear that thread into the pump drive hub, NO nut used on DPA pumps
on Ford engines. There's a center Allen screw but it's NOT to be removed on engine. Remove the three bolts, and pump mount stud nuts then pull pump reward from the gear
case. When going back make sure the gear pin enters the hub slot for timing alignment.

yes understood.

the pump is removed from the tractor.

and yes it is an allen bolt in the center of the recess, can I use an impact wrench to spin it loose?
It is very tight, and prying and biasing against the three front bolts has not busted it loose thus far.

The Allen bolt has red lock tite on it. The pump hub should not be removed unless you have the tools for seal replacement, and pump needs completely torn down to do that correctly. I just replaced the seals on a Perkins DPA that's on the test stand now.

ok so heat needed to remove it, I will try that, and then the impact.

the seal looks simple enough to replace to me, why would I need a special tool?

cordless impact knocked it loose without any drama

there was no loc-tite that I could tell on the screw.

seal replaced, ( that little thick washer with the flat sides was a head scratcher for a bit)
top cover resealed, pump should be good to go.
But now I realize the water pump on the tractor is bad, so pulling the entire front clip off to do that, before reinstalling the pump. ( should make the pump install easier, the FEL makes working on this tractor a real PITA.
