fender and running board swap

Does anyone know if the the fenders and running boards from the 5000 thru 7600 models made in the 1970s work on the 5610s thru 7810s models made in the 1990s? Got a 7810s and I don't like the way the fenders and running boards touch. It makes it hard to get off/on. The foot throttle and hydraulic filter are the problems that I've noticed as possible on the right side. It looks like it might work, but don't know if the mounting holes for the running boards are the same from the 1970s to 1990s.

The running board mounting holes are the same so yes they can be interchanged
The running boards on the S models will be wider than the earlier models, so installing the narrow boards could cause a issue with the foot throttle
If the S model running boards are similar to the ones I removed from a 95 3930 their brackets will support the board without it being attached to the fender, you could simply swap out the fenders and keep the wider running boards
The early Euro Fords with fender attached running boards would bend down if no attached to the fenders

There's been a number of times I've wished I had the S model fenders when feeding livestock in muddy weather, no fun when a rear tire squirts manure filled mud and water up between the fender and running board, it will soak the back of our pants leg and any part of you back side that isn't protected by the seat
