Ford 800 Loader Compatibility

Ive got a Ford 860 that I would like to find a front end loader for. I see all sorts of loaders for 8Ns but Im trying to figure out if those would work on the 800 series as well? Any opinions on which is the best loader for an 800 series? At the moment, Ive found a Superior H118 S for a decent price. Its hard to find references on compatibility.

Thanks to any replies,

An 800 is a couple/few inches longer than
an N.
Some loaders were designed to fit both
models and had two sets of bolt holes where
the frame attaches to the rear axle. Check
that.
The front engine mount is different between
the two models so the front loader
bracket/s will be different. The old saying
here is that the differences are nothing a
torch and welder won't fix.

But I have to ask:
Are you certain you want a loader?
A loader will make a long, heavy, hard
steering behemoth out of that nimble little
tractor - especially if it doesn't already
have power steering on it.
I always say if more than half the tasks
you have for that tractor require a loader
then add one. If less than half get a rear
scoop for hauling stuff and a boom pole for
lifting/loading things. Both implements go
on your 3 point for quick removal.
If you need to do some ground engagement or
serious material moving, rent a skid steer.
Also, you'll likely not find a pristine
loader for your tractor. So get ready for a
pretty steep learning curve on hydraulic
pumps, valves and cylinders and seals - all
of which are expensive and love to leak
copious amounts of oil.
Can you tell I'm not a loader fan?

I like a loader but have to echo most of what Ultradog said. Without power steering a loader makes the tractor hard to steer. Especially in close quarters. And they can add significant length to a tractor. Dont get me wrong they are handy as a shirt pocket. I have one on a JD but really like my old ford without one too.

With these old tractors, the best loader is the one closest to you that fits your tractor, is a step thru style, and allows you to remove at least the lift arms and bucket semi easy when you don't need a loader as everything Ultradog said is 100 percent true. Sometimes you are better off buying an entire tractor with a loader on it as you at least know it fits and works. Sometimes when you find just a loader for sale, it is missing mounting brackets because they were left on the tractor it was removed from.

I didnt share but I have another 860 that I use to bush hog and other three-point attachments. The one in question has a fork truck attachment on the back and I thought it would be neat to have a loader on the front making it a nice little lifting machine. Great running little tractor. Its already got an Auxiliary hydraulic pump that gives the fork good speed So I assume the loader would operate well with it. Maybe even pick up the Jackson PS kit down the road.
