4000 year Se#

I just bought a early 70s 400. The se# doesn't match any of them on Tractor Data. They all start with a C and mine starts with a B. Numbers don't match anything either. My se # is B838262Anybody know what I have or where to look for info.
Thanks
Harold

In addition to what majorman has said, the fact that the serial number starts with an 8 after the B means that it was a "Domestic" Basildon tractor made for sale inside the UK. Basildon had two separate serial number ranges back then, and export models started at B000001 and went up from there and the domestic models started at B800001 and went up from there. There isn't a lot of documentation on the breakdown by year for the European made tractors, but I do have one reference that says that the Domestic Basildon serial numbers had gotten up to around B851094 by the time they made the switch to the newer style sheet metal on 4/1/68, so B838262 is a late 1967 or early 1968 serial number. It should have the louvers on the sides of the hood and the wraparound lower grill. If it has a gas engine then it would be the 192 ci engine rather than the 201, as that was another change made on 4/1/68. The diesel 4000's were 201 ci engines for the entire production run, but the gassers changed size on that date.
