Ford 960 Spindles

Does anyone know where I can get a ford 960 High crop wide front right spindle? Mine looks bent when compared to the left side. The arm almost touches the tire.

Also looking for the front radius rod - looks like a v shape and connects the axle to the back of the front mount assembly. Mine looks like is may have broke off from the pivot point and welded back together - and sadly broken again.

I don't see any new parts on line for this tractor. I think I need to find used.

Anyone have any extra parts?

Thank you

I may be missing something but I'm not sure why a high crop
would have arm clearance issues. Are you sure it's not a regular
row crop 960 with a wide front? It would make a difference in parts.

I think what is throwing us off a bit is
your calling it a High Crop.
I don't think Ford built a High Crop in
that series. They did build a lot of Row
Crops however. Look closely at Royse's
photos to see the difference.
I believe the Hi Crops were a regular row
crop that was taken in hand by an
aftermarket company and made taller.
Is it possible that your spindle bushings
are just badly worn? I doubt you can buy
new RC spindles any more but the bushings
should still be available. Sometimes the
spindles are badly worn too. In that case
you could send them off to a machine shop
to have them built up oversize by welding
then machined back down to factory specs.
If you are near Minneapolis, Minn I could
do that job for you.
I don't know where you would find the
radius rod for it.
I would try posting an ad in the free
classifieds here. You might get lucky and
find one that way.

Sorry I am unable to post pictures. Below is link to a video that show the front I have.

You can see how close the spindle arms are to the tires.

The rear axle has lift case on either side to lift the back up. The axle does not go straight to the center of the wheel. For this
reason I assumed it was a high version.

All the spindles I have seen on line do not have the key or the arm screw indexed to the same position. these spindle arms point
straight back with the bolt facing the wheel side - arms appear to be mirror image from side to side. They have a bend raising them up
so if swapped from side to side the bend would be directing the arm lower.

The spindle does not look that tall as the one in your picture - I would guess between 10-11 high.

The right side has the arm straight back like the left but on the right side the wheel is turned several degrees (noticeable). the
left is straight. This leads me to believe the spindle is bent (along with the axle support arm weld being broken). Not sure what was
done to create this damage - but I would like to fix it.

Has anyone rebent the spindle? I am thinking it might be safest to remove and bring to a machine shop to reindex the key and bolt
clearance.

What would be the proper term for this tractor?

Am I missing naming it and therefor unable to find the part?

All the spindle pictures I see have the key and the bolt clearance in a different position.

Thank you for any help you all can provide.

Your tractor is a 900 series row crop with wide front. I agree that you spindle is twisted, perhaps from some sort of collision. On the Messick's CNH parts pages it shows it as none on hand but available in 3-7 days. It is believed by posters here that the 3-7 days is code for NLA. You best bet would be to find it in a salvage yard. I think that I would look for a machine shop that can broach a new keyway into it in the right place to make it line up.

I think I found it - I was making the mistake of thinking it was a high version - it appears to be just a wide front.

Thank you for all your help!
