Need some advice on how to align

Your bottom gate needs to be moved ahead(left in the picture) to align with the slot on the middle rail, the top rail slot needs to be back (to right)to align with the center slot, and that will put it into neutral in all gears. This condition is caused by a worn end on the shifter, and sloppy shifting will allow the end to slide out of one gear, without actually moving the rail, and into another gear, thus locking up the transmission. The end of the shifter can be carefully welded or brazed to build it up, and filed smooth to cure the problem, or just make sure you shift squarely in and H pattern. When you put the cover back on, be very careful to hit the main shift slot, and get the two speed shift ball into the socket. Then with the engine shut off; shift it into and out of each gear, as you rock the tractor back and forth, the be sure you have the shifters properly into place.

Thank You to everyone who responded!! Back in the Saddle, still need a new shifter, but as long as I dont pull up, she stays in. Thanks Again, Don
