1974 ford 4000su rebuild question

Well time has come for a rebuild on the ol girl. Have a question regarding the piston sizing. After cleaning a bit I found the stamped Id on front side as figured I should.
The markings are as follows. 65.std.ka and below that is what looks like a trademark with letter m inside and UK after.
Rod bearings are .20 as marked on them , I know there's several types of bearings too I need to finger out lol. Will include pics. Tha ks for any help , just want to order the proper kit to rebuild it , rings, bearings and gaskets etc.

Pics of the 3 pistons and rod bearings.

What was the reason you tore it down in the
first place?
I would say you need to do some measuring
before you decide what parts to order.
Measure the bores and measure ALL the
journals on the crank. They both may be
worn past specs. Measuring up an engine is
not something you can do with a $20 pair of
dial calipers from Harbor Fright. It
requires expensive tools and they require
skill to use correctly.
I suggest you bring the block and crank to
an engine machine shop and get them
measured up. Then have them tell you what
sizes of bearings and pistons or rings to
order. You may need to have the block bored
- or sleeved and or the crank ground.
That is worst case.
Best case is you may be able to install new
rings - after reaming the ridge - and put
the same size bearings back in it. But
untill you have an idea what it actually
needs you may just be throwing parts down a
rabbit hole.

(quoted from post at 01:51:31 10/13/21) What was the reason you tore it down in the
first place?
Well it developed some good blow by out the breather pipe. Has had a miss to the engine since I got it (tractor sat for many years in a barn) despite replacing entire fuel system including injectors. Water pump was leaking a bit out of weap hole, and the irritating valve noise that drives me crazy. (Lifter tapping)
And I just want it rebuilt know what I have. Not a stranger to rebuilds of diesel or gas engines. I have many years of being inside diesels from cars, trucks, and some bore rigs , heavy equipment. And yes I have tools not junk from HF lol.
Simply just looking for any help or wisdom regarding this little 3 cylinder

Pistons are standard size and that .020 bearing says the crank has been ground undersize
Thats unusual as those cranks are tuff and rarely need a regrind unless its been starved for oil, such as a oil pump failure

You need to check the cylinders for wear as they may need to be bored oversized
Also pull the main bearings and check their size, my 4000SU crank was std on the mains but .010 under on the rods
If it had a miss and a noise valve tap check the cam for a flattened lobe, a valve job on the head will tell its condition

Ive always found it beat to get most of the machine work done before ordering parts
May take a few days longer but better than sending the wrong parts back and waiting for the correct ones

Bearing look good trying to do a in frame rebuild , but did pull the main caps as well. Mains look to be standard size just rods were .20's did find some cracked rings on #2 -3 pistons , cylinders have a nice cross hatch still #1 has a very very tiny bit of wear but nothing to be alarmed about.
Far as I can tell by dial indicator cylinders are round (non sleeve) piston tops have pitting and what appears to be areas of valve touched once or twice. Head surfaces appear to be in good shape as well according to dial indicator as well straight edge and feeler gauges lol
Head is apart valves out and being hot tanked as we speak lol. Will be doing re face on valves with new seals , springs and retainers. Etc etc.
Need to replace water pump and also going to put a new rad in it as well.

2 pistons are indicating valve contact which could be the tapping noise your hearing
You need to check piston protrusion and also make sure to get the correct head gasket
65-mid 68 engines used a thinner head gasket and a lower lift cam, if someone installed the early thinner head gasket on a later model engine valve to piston contact could happen
