The grommets on my 345 C were slit at each tube, not sure if it was factory or previous owners

Ah, that's how they do it. Good to know. What do you guys use to degrease? I've been using cheap oven cleaner from the 99 cent stores and a pressure washer. Actually a pressure washer first to knock off the big chunks and then coat what's left with the oven cleaner and then again with the pressure washer. Rinse and repeat.

careful with the oven cleaner, most will remove paint and can damage things like radiators and coolers
I use "Purple Power" mixed strong, sprayed on with a 1 gallon sprayer , re-wetting every 15 minutes or so, then wash with the pressure washer(small electric 1800psi)running off the hot water outlet in my shop sink. Does pretty good.

work together - they actually don't - and

That's a pretty worthless paint chart. You can't tell the difference between the different shades of blue and yellow.
