I can't speak to the 5000s as I've never
owned or worked on a 5000.
I do have the big Ford manual that covers
them as well as the smaller ones.
I also have the I&T FO-31 manual which
covers the 2,3 and 4000s which I have owned
and worked on.
The FO-31 has adequately covered everything
I have done to those - engines,
transmissions, rear ends, final drives,
brakes, steering, hydraulics, PTOs, etc
inclucing the hydrostatic steering on the
4200 I recently did a Major rehab on.
The big Ford manual just sits on the shelf
in my office. I think about selling it
sometimes as I have little or no use for it
- and it is big, clunky, heavy and
expensive.
