Hello everyone. I have a 1957 Ford 700 that has not been run in 5 plus years. It has a Zenith carburetor. Can I replace this Zenith with a Marvel Schebler carb?... Maybe Marvel Schebler part#TSX800 ??

Thanks
Scotty

measure the stud holes in your manifold or on the carb so you get the correct carb to fit. Earlier carb studs had narrower spacing.

That's good news to me! My 801 has a MS on it too. Tough carb and simple to work on. Not sure how or why the Zenith got on there but it's coming off. Thanks Larry

That's the part# I'm using to replace this Zenith. Not sure how the Zenith got on there. I bought the tractor as it sits but glad I can put a MS on to replace. The Zenith are a lot more $$ and probably not as forgiving and tough as an MS. Thanks Andy

Will do. Haven't pulled the old Zenith off yet but I do see there's 2 sizes it could be so far 2 1/4" and 2 5/16". Will be measuring for sure.
Thanks Kirk

Maybe my old brain is remembering things incorrectly, but I thought that the 6xx/7xx series used the narrower spacing throughout the run, and it was the 8xx/9xx series that changed to a larger throated carb and larger opening in the intake manifold partway through the production run.

Some of the aftermarket manifolds have elongated slots so either one can be used. Just something else to check.
