2000 Power Steering Seal

Neighbors 2000 diesel with power steering pukes fluid up the steering column occasionally on startup, but not when running.
Tried looking up parts diagram on CHN but can't get it to work.
Just wondering if it's just a simple seal change right under the steering wheel.
What does it take to get the CHN site to work?

You don't say whether it's a 3 or 4 cylinder 2000. The power steering gears are similar between them but I believe there are some slight differences. Here are links to the parts drawings for both:

It's a 3 cylinder diesel.
Wonder what kind of trouble I could get into if I try to replace the seal.

The upper seal itself isn't bad to replace. The hardest part will be removing the steering wheel and dash tin. Unfortunately, by the time that upper seal is leaking as bad as you describe, there are other things farther down inside that probably need to be replaced as well.

Right now it's not a constant leak. Every once in a while it will leak a little on start up and then it stops while running.
Found where they sell a kit that includes a sleeve to slide over the shaft if the shaft is worn.
I think I'll let that sleeping dog lay for now.
