Ford 5000 Remote Hydraulics

I have a 1975 5000 I am trying to help a friend repair. On the remote valve below the seat, the handle was broken off due to a bad seat. It actually broke the end of the spool where the handle attached. Also both hoses are dry rotted to the point they both need replacing. Yesterday tractor sales a remote kit listed for the 5000 with a new control valve, hoses, couplings, and bolts. Would this kit work as a replacement for his tractor? I also saw an adapter plate listed for this tractor as well. Would we need this for the newer style controller to mount?? We priced new hoses at near $40-$60 each but all I have found in a replacement control valve was a used one at around $250 and Im not 100% sure it would be exactly the same as his original. With the kit being only about $300, we thought this may be the most cost effective way to go if it fits?? Anyone have any ideas or had any experience with this? Thanks

I figured the heat would destroy the inside of the valve unless we were really lucky. We also do not have the original handle or broken pieces due to it happening before he purchased the tractor

I my case, I had the broken end and I pulled the spool out first. I doubt it would be that hard to fashion up something crude enough to stick a bolt through.

So far, the only replacement handles I have found are around $165 since they are also no longer being produced. I may could fashion some type of metal handle that would work , but if I purchase this with the hoses and rubber end caps the kit would still be cheaper ( if it would fit??).

Yes. I bought the single remote with detent from this site along with the power beyond plate because my 5000 also has a loader. It all works fine. But cost a lot more than what you posted.

Im not sure what the difference in the single spool kit with hoses for $300 and some of the other valve only products that are over $500??

I think the one you are looking at is just really cheap and poor quality. I don't remember which one I bought but I know it was $500-$700. It was not a kit it was just a valve and handle. I wish I could help you more. I would call YT parts line and talk to them. I had my local hydraulic shop make my hoses so I got the exact length I wanted. I had to do extra things because I have a loader on my 5000. I had to get the power beyond plate and extra hoses. I think it was $1000+ to do everything.
