back pressure valve

while looking for a cylinder relief valve for my 3600, i cam across something called a back pressure valve. i can't really find it referenced
in my shop manual. what is it? what does it do? thanks.

When not lifting, it keeps a minimal amount of pressure on the system to allow the operation of the unloader/etc to function, without the pump deadheading at 2000psi plus all the time.

i couldn't find mention of it in my 3600 manual. do all newer ford tractors have this valve? where is it located in the hyd system? when i
came across the valve i thought maybe it had something to do with power steering. learn something everyday. thanks

3400 diagram and 2000 picture......suspect similar to yours.
