Saw a ad for a Ford 800 tractor. Did Ford build a 800? I thought that
was just the series. Is $2800 a decent price for a solid example that
runs and operates good?

People sometimes refer to the model series when they don't know the specifics. To me that's a good price if it has no problems but the prices have gone way down in Missouri. Nobody wants the old ones anymore.

800 was the series, with varying models within.
Whether or not that is a good price, to me, would depend on the
model, condition, tires and options. Remote hydraulics and power
steering for examples, and power steering on that series would
most likely be and add on. Any implements included? etc.

800 is the series but only gearheads and vintage Ford collectors know what last 2 numbers mean.
Accross the board,$2,800 is a good buy for one that need's little to nothing. With the right options, new tires and solid engine, trans and hydraulics, one can bring upwards of $3,500.
