Dissecting a 1821 For Sale on FB ad

A few random thoughts on one of those Quick-Buck Seller's ads on FB...

1) COME ON MAN, TAKE IT OFF THE TRAILER! Sure, we all like a quick turn-around, but don't rub in my face! Its almost as bad as the ones taken out the rear window while hauling it home. Besides, now all of YTDOT can see your terrible load securing job...

2) >... needs the fuel bled to run...< So what's stopping you? Open the drain on the filter bottom, them the one on the top, then crack the lines at the injectors. Your'e really just too darn busy to take 10 minutes time to get it running and increase your price by 1/2?

3) >...just changed the oil and drained the fuel tank... Lemme guess- the fuel tank SELF DRAINED into the oil pan, THEN you decided to drain it all out?< Wouldn't it be easier to just say >Injector pump seal shot.<? By the way, from that plethora of drywall buckets, funnels and fuel cans I see you took 10-15 gallons out of the oilpan. At least hide the evidence!

4) LOCATION,LOCATION, LOCATION. The clutter of tools, charger, fuel and spray cans, other abandoned projects, masking tape (?!) and other general mayhem makes me doubt not only your organizational, but also your diagnostic and repair skills...

5) Cool steering wheel, bro. Hopefully thatll be the something extra that sells this tractor. With your expected windfall, maybe you can finally afford to get that barrow a new wheel, get the Craftsman running and finish camo painting your Dodge short bed before grandma has it hauled away from in front of her trailer!

They did not make an 1821 in 1964 did they? I just bought mine for $600 with good tires and that two cycle mix in the crankcase. Mine also has that Case unit on back with hydraulic 2 speed PTO. Not worth the asking of $2500

(quoted from post at 14:07:30 09/20/21) Finally, a shot of the other side! Did you ever get that Case 3 point working?
ee hee warbaby... I didn't realize I was holding out on left side pics. Yes Case unit on back works great since we bleed the line at the power beyond line at the loader control. Flow control works opposite of what you'd think using the 0-10 numbers. It is H E L L for stout.

Pretty crummy post.
You seem to be adept at making presumptions about other people's stuff and worse yet, about other people's lives.
How do you know he didn't just haul it back from hunting camp and is sick of working on it all the time. So he just wants it gone and is going to go buy a newer tractor.
And maybe he isn't the best writer but if you deigned to inquire about it he might be a decent guy with a truthful story.
But no. You are more apt to invent a negative story based on APPEARANCES and do exactly the thing you huff and puff about in others.
This is why you have zero credibiliy when it comes to the sociopolitical crap you throw around on this site.

Wait a minute-I NEVER claimed to have any MORAL STANDARDS!

I should point out that the seller also still has this tractor listed for 1500.oo from a few weeks ago, before he took the junk moped and torpedo heater off it and hauled it home- if youre still interested. GOOD LUCK!

Well thats good news! Sometimes you get lucky. As a bonus, with that monster hitch hanging off the back, you probably wont need any wheel weights.

Not this one, but the ads I laugh at are "All it needs is a battery to run." Why not spend less than a hundred & raise the price about $500 as "starts & runs"!

Lynn, I agree. But sometimes it hurts my
feelings seeing another brand new
battery leaving! Lol. But the extra
money on the sale is worth it.

I'd not send a new battery out - swap out the oldest serviceable battery in the fleet. The tractor is used, the battery should also be 'proven'.
