1953 jubilee front crankshaft seal leak

So i believe i narrowed down a front end leak to the front crankshaft seal.
A few questions for you guys
1. Im chasing a front end leak i suspect is the front crankshaft seal. Anything else it could be from the governor housing?
2. Since gaskets are relatively cheap and i would like to have most things on hand as i tear into this. Is there a gasket for the governor housing? I have nothing shown in parts breakdown but listed on my parts catalog there is part# EAF 66022A(governor housing gasket) but not available anywhere. Only governor housing to cylinder gasket..
3. Is EAA6700B the neoprene front crankshaft seal the right part?
4. Assuming i possibly have a worn crankshaft where is the best place to get a repair sleeve? How exactly are they installed, Ive never done it. The one on yesterday tractors is $41.00 and i found one at napa ($10)but not sure if they can be cross referenced
5. Am i better off replacing the the older ball style governor with the newer centrifugal type for $91.. or replacing the ball bearings if that's the issue( takes quite a bit of throttle movement before upping throttle) also can't idle properly until about 900 rpms.

Anything else i should be looking for or aware of during this process?

The 2 piece timing cover was obsoleted eons ago. The sleeve goes on hub. Just go ahead and replace governor while there.

The NAA has a one piece timing cover. I belive, the governor housing mounts on the timing cover, right over the crankshaft. Someone correct me If I'm wrong.

Try here for current part numbers

To replace the front main seal you would need to remove the front pulley and the governor.
I think the seal rides on the crankshaft pulley, like an 8N. If so, Install the correct speedi-sleeve onto hub of pulley. Install a new seal into the governor housing and replace all.

Could be leaking from a few different places, or multiple places. Valve cover, timing cover, governor, front main seal, etc. You need to clean the front of the engine thoroughly to be able and identify where the leak is coming from. You want to identify correctly as some repairs are much more involved than others.

Almost impossible to always have everything on hand before starting a project. You will find other stuff you need as you tear into it. Governor gasket is only $31 from CNH. I would cut my own and use [i:e39c685954][b:e39c685954]a little[/b:e39c685954][/i:e39c685954] RTV. Did I mention [i:e39c685954][b:e39c685954]a little[/b:e39c685954][/i:e39c685954]

Can be purchased anywhere once correct number is identified. NAPA, local bearing shop, online, ebay etc. I have never seen any speedi-sleeve for $10. Usually $30 -- $40 and up. Speedi-sleeves come with their own installation cup. You place the cup over the sleeve, onto the flange of the sleeve and press on. The flange can either be left on, or peeled off. Lots of times in this type of application, they can be left on. Not only are there many many sizes of sleeves, they also usually come in several different widths. Get the correct one, that will work for you.

IMHO, No. rebuild original parts if poss is always a better option nowadays

(takes quite a bit of throttle movement before upping throttle) also can't idle properly until about 900 rpms.
Sounds more like adjustments are needed, governor & carburetor.
Don't be replacing / rebuilding parts unless you have identified they are at fault.

Yeah that's what i was gathering, but I definitely have a 2 piece cover. Am i SOL for a gasket?
